La Lombardie is situated on the edge of the small village of Drulhe, near the bastide town of Villefranche de Rouergue in the Northern region of the Aveyron in Southwestern France.

The Aveyron, with its' regional capital Rodez is considered to be one of the most 'secret' departments in France, cut off for years by its' physical geography. There are the mountains of the Aubrac to the North, the craggy Peuchs of Levezou in the centre and the Grand Causses of the South.

The area is also rich in history. Human habitation can be traced back to Neolithic times, with our local Grottes de Foissac, described as a veritable underground museum, well worth a visit. Roman conquerors, Saracen invaders and the Knights Templar have all left their marks on the region, including our own village.
